English at Work

English at Work was designed to provide onsite job-specific English language training as well as cultural and essential skills to assist employees in succeeding and advancing at work. We are now offering an online or blended option to English at Work programs.

English at Work has been providing this service to local companies for over 30 years. We offer it in partnership with Enhanced English Skills for Employment.

Who benefits

  • Employers - Course content is customized for your company to ensure effective on-the-job communication, leading to improved employee performance and quality of work, increased productivity, staff retention, safety, and overall employee engagement.
  • Employees - Workplace-specific language training helps build confidence and engagement at work, improve job satisfaction, and create opportunities to climb the ladder.

Program delivery

Onsite, online or blended (a combination of both)

Our trained and experienced instructors design and deliver practical, job-specific instruction for online or onsite delivery.

Program Outline

We design customized content to ensure employees have the communication skills needed to work efficiently and safely in their specific workplace.

While English at Work programs are flexible in scope and duration, typical classes meet once or twice a week for 12 weeks.

All English at Work packages include:

  • Instructor selection, orientation and training
  • Employer and instructor support and quality control management
  • Initial and ongoing needs assessments
  • Curriculum customization for your company and employee(s)

End of session company report and participation certificates for employees are available upon request.
