ICELBAN Speaking Assessment

As part of our commitment to training internationally educated nurses, we offer the Institutional CELBAN (“ICELBAN”) speaking assessment. The ICELBAN is a practice version of the Canadian English Language Benchmark Assessment for Nurses and we offer the speaking portion in an online format for the convenience of internationally educated nurses regardless of their physical location.

While our online version cannot perfectly simulate the in-person test experience, our knowledgeable instructors will provide a professional, safe environment to help you practice the verbal skills needed for the CELBAN, providing you with personalized feedback that is intended to help you focus your language skills development.

Note: Unfortunately, we do not offer online ICELBAN versions of listening, reading, and writing.

Who benefits

Anyone required or choosing to take the official CELBAN as their proof of language proficiency as part of the process of being licenced as a nurse.

Those who have already completed the free CELBAN Readiness Self-Assessment, reviewed the CELBAN Centre’s tips and have consulted the CELBAN Practice Handbook will find our online ICELBAN speaking assessment most beneficial. Visit celbancentre.ca for more preparation information.

Our free webinars, as well as our 5-week and 10-week CCCN modules, were designed to help nurses develop the language skills needed to succeed on the CELBAN. The ICELBAN speaking assessment can be taken on its own if you believe you are ready - or as the perfect add-on to our webinars and modules.
